Candidates have to first apply and appear for accepted entrance exams (KCET/ COMEDK for BTech, GATE/ PGCET for MTech, KMAT/ PGCET for MBA and MCA) for admission at BMS College of Engineering. Aspirants have to then participate in KEA Counselling for BTech (based on KCET scores) and PG courses. Once the seat is allotted, aspirants need to report at the campus for document verification and fee payment. For Management Quota, aspirants need to apply on the college's website with entrance exam score.

The Selection process at the School of Engineering and Technology, CMR University
The Student or Candidates must clear 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Maths, and English to be eligible for the university.
The Individual can take admission by taking any one of the later exams i.e. CET, JEE Main, COMED-K or CMRUAT

The Cutoff for B.Tech varies depending upon the selection of college by the students and the overall ranking of colleges, the cut-off for School of Engineering and Technology, CMR University would differ according to the exam the individual had given.
For the KCET Exam, the overall cutoff rank ranged between 697-36596
And For the COMEDK-UGET exam, the overall cutoff rank was between 674-16275
The cut-off may vary depending upon various other factors and can differ with time, but based on past data, the cut-off could be met nearly to the above range itself.

BMS College of Engineering course admissions are only made through the entrance examination scores and rank obtained by candidates. BMSCE accepts the rank and scores of various entrance examinations depending upon the programme opted by the candidates. KCET and COMEDK scores are required for BMS College BE admission while GATE and Karnataka PGCET scores are required for MTech admission. BMS College of Engineering MBA admission is made through CMAT/ MAT/ KMAT or Karnataka PGCET scores and the institute accepts the scores of Karnataka PGCET or KMAT to offer admission in the MCA programme.
