Cannot assure you much about other Departments, but CSE and AERO are the above par branches here. Cultural fests and other events are like 3/10 rating. Talking about academics, yes you can take it as a good place, as lectures will help u a lot with the subjects and marks (talking about CSE and AERO). If u have a low rank or coming from management quota, ACSCE is a fair choice as it is growing really fast.

Assuming, you are talking about B.Tech in Public colleges, Presidency is more expensive and has a fee struture in the range of INR 2LPA - INR 4 LPA while in general, SETs are more likely to be in the range of INR 30,000 - INR 1 Lakhs per annum. This does not answer the question asked as there is a huge assumption that you are talking about BTech in public colleges. The answer varies significantly based on multiple factors like the stream chosen, hostel and other facilities, categories, the specific institutions selected, and even gender. Therefore, a more specific question is to be asked including the above mentioned details.

Both the institutes are best at their level.PES has earned a certain reputation as a top university in Bangalore over the years, so it is definitely the university of choice. As the university currently requires assessment, it is based solely on student work, but placement in additional activities and experiences may be encouraged.
PES University is more suitable for Computer Science Engineering than Amrita College of Engineering in Coimbatore in terms of placement

PUB has a higher placement percentage when compared to SET. It may be due to the fact that PUB offers a wider range of programs other than engineering when compared to SET. the average salary range is also higher at PUB and is in the range of 5 to 10 Lakhs per annum while SET's anerage salary range is close to 4 LPA. If you are interested in engineering streams, SET might be better suited for you as it offers diverse options of engineering branches which may appeal to your interests. In short your question has a very complex answer actually and therefore you need to be more specific like your interest in the program, future plans etc.
