If you are expecting a very high placement from mechanical department them you need to give second thought as placement is good for CS or IS or EC department. In mechanical you need to work hard to get a placement you need to have good technical, management, programing knowledge.
Coming to fact of MVIT placement in mechanical I would say it's average.
All depends on you how to perform in your 4 years and one more thing beware of mechanical teachers.

You should prepare for CAT (common admission test)/MAT/XAT. IIMs, Business schools or top ranked universities like DU, BHU, Assam University, Anna University, University of Madras, Mumbai University, Loyola College, etc. and IITs (those provide management courses) are better options for doing M.B.A. in India.
