Yes, you can take admission in engineering college in Tamilnadu without appearing for KEAM or JEE. You need to apply online through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission or TNEA portal. IHM Chennai OBC AI category cutoff 2025 for admission to the B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration course was 7689 in the last round. In the first round, the closing rank stood at 6402. So, considering the first and last round closing ranks, if you belong to the OBC category and are seeking admission to IHM Chennai, you must target to secure a cutoff rank of up to 7689 or less to improve your chance of getting admission. The lower the cutoff rank, the higher the chance of getting admission, and vice versa.

SRM typically requires minimum 50% PCM (45% for reserved categories) in Class 12, alongside a valid SRMJEEE rank (or JEE Main in some categories). For CS/AI/ML, the rank matters far more. Make maths compulsory (unless you're going for certain tech lite programmes). Always re-check the current year SRMJEEE brochure—they sometimes tweak cut offs and eligibility language.

Expect roughly one lakh to one lakh fifty thousand rupees per year (tuition) for B.Sc MLT, plus admission, exam, lab, hostel, and transport if opted. The total of a year bill commonly lands between three lakh fifty thousand to five lakh rupees, depending on scholarships and hostel choice. Sathyabama periodically revises fees, so download the latest fee circular/admission brochure. Evaluate hospital tie-ups, internship stipends, NABL-accredited lab exposure, and placement partners—they matter more than a few thousand rupees difference.

If you're OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer), make sure to select OBC-NCL in the IIT Madras application. If you accidentally picked just “OBC, ” contact them ASAP with your correct central certificate. No valid OBC-NCL doc? Your app could get bumped to General. That's risky if your rank isn't strong. Don't wait till it's too late — email them and get your docs sorted so you're not disqualified in the verification round.

For JoSAA counselling, the eligibility criterion for OBC-NCL (Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, specifically for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, is generally sixty-five percent in their 12th standard or being in the top twenty percentile of their respective qualifying examination board. The seventy-five percent criterion is typically for General and EWS category candidates, or for admission to IITs for all categories. Both IGNOU and University of Madras are decent for MA english distance education but IGNOU is better known nationally with more structured material and support. Madras university is fine especially if you're in chennai since it's local.
