Candidates who get admission to the IIT Madras BSc course are required to pay the fees apart from the tuition fees. The fees structure comprises of various components apart from the tuition fees such as hostel fees and one-time fees. The institute also charges a separate amount for mess charges. IIT Madras BSc admission is entirely entrance-based for the year 2024 as the institute accepts the rank and scores obtained by candidates in the JEE Main and the IISER Aptitude Test. The IISER Aptitude Test scores are accepted by the institute to offer admission to the dual degree BS plus MS programme.

According to media reports, 1,091 students were placed in phase I and phase II of 2023-24 placements.
