As such IIMs, do not provide specialization in any subject, but yes, if you wish you can choose your own electives of IT in 2nd year. But, at the end of the day, you will get the same degree as any other IIM grad I.e. PGDM (no specialization).

You can take admission in around 111 colleges under Gujarat Technological University (GTU), by simply applying to ACPC following by counseling, but from this year GTU started considering their own exam named GUJCET, therefore the seats are going to be distributed between GUJCET and JEE, also there are top private university like NIRMA, PDPU, Parul University, where you can directly apply through their own application form, and if you are eligible, they will admit you.

Level of education is very high and serious here. A guy would struggle if he takes it to be a stereotypical B.Tech college. Almost all the professors have masters and doctoral from the leading IITs of the country. Some of them have also went for research abroad.
Regarding placements, the first batch of electrical and civil engineering students graduated in 2017 and the first batch of mechanical students will graduate in 2018. Half of the guys sitting for campus selection got placed with a highest package of 8.5 lakhs INR pa. Those are really encouraging signs.

NIRF Ranking : IITGN 30 NITH 51
ESTD. : IITGN 2008 NITH 2002, 1986(REC)

Quality of education imparted in both the institutions are are of great value.
In terms of funds granted, IITs receive a far more than what NITs get. The quality of cultural and technical festivals conducted is somewhat better in IITGN compared to NIT Hamirpur.
Needless to say the brand value of an IIT is itself enough to take a step to join the institution. There is a joint course offered by CALTECH and IITGN on disruptive design on Indian Healthcare. This it
