For most of the courses at TU Dublin, the primary entry point is the September intake and this is true for courses in Data Analytics, Business and Engineering.

On the other hand, the January intake courses are limited to some selected courses in PG conversion or the part-time courses

Primarily, TU Dublin offers admission to career-focused learners and not purely to academic toppers

It is actually built on a practice-based model. The assessment of a student application is done on the following basis -

  • Practical experience
  • Clear career motivation
  • Industry readiness

Yes, TU Dublin is a lot more accessible for Indian students than the other top Irish universities like Trinity College Dublin or University College Dublin. Look at the guidelines given below -

  • It is because the TU Dublin admissions and its entry requirements are more flexible and has a higher acceptance rate.
  • It caters heavily to Applied Sciences and it is known for welcoming students from many academic backgrounds.

While DCU does not sit in the global top 50 in the world by QS, US News or THE, it is a highly respected institution in Ireland.

So, Indian students should not only consider the DCU rankings but the following pointers -

  • Employability (exceeding 95% for most grads)
  • Built-in work placements (over 80% of courses have this)
  • Strong subjects (Business, Computing/Tech), Engineering and more

As per an unofficial source, Dublin City University significantly overperforms in real-world employability compared to its general global rankings.

Look at the given pointers -

  • DCU generally ranks between #301 and #410 in the global university lists.
  • It is all because DCU is historically designed for industry engagement (generally producing an employment rate of over 93 to 96%, that too within 6 to 9 months of graduation).
