Basically normalization is process that keep the marks at an equal level monitoring the difference in the difficulty level of various shifts of the exam. lets calculate for CGL 2017 marks. I got 142 marks in 10 august shift 3rd. Avg marks of top 0.1% candidate in all sessions = 191
sum of mean and SD (which is basically a cut-off)for all sessions = 131
Avg marks of top 0.1% student in 10th august 3rd shift = 185
sum of mean and SD (which is basically a cut-off)for 10 august 3rd sessions = 129
