The allocation process for seats offered under the NMIT Bangalore BTech programme are done based on students' performance in the NUCAT exam. It is an in-house entrance test conducted for various courses, including BTech. Those seeking admissions are required to present a valid score in the NUCAT exam and fulfill the eligibility criteria.

Once NMIT Bangalore closes the application window, the admission committee of the institute begins with the allocation process.
