Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences is overall considered to be a good option for the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course. The institute provides a well-rounded course and practical training, which are fundamental to nursing studies. It focuses greatly on student support, in the form of mentoring and career guidance, which makes the graduate employable post-graduation. Some reviews state that the placement prospects might be better, particularly for students looking to work abroad. In total, the institute offers a good platform for prospective nurses, thus it is a good choice for GNM studies.

As having a KCET rank of 82,658, getting an admission in a government college is not easy because cutoffs of government colleges will be much lesser. But you can have hope in less-popular courses like Biotechnology or Environmental Engineering in private or aided colleges. Admissions are based on seat availability and category-wise cutoff trends at the time of counseling rounds. It is advisable to attend every counseling round and search for colleges having higher closing ranks. For accurate options, refer to the official KCET cutoff information published by KEA after every round of counseling.

KSRDPRU, Gadag and Kuvempu University offers M.Sc. in Geoinformatics, but the programs are different in quality based on their faculty, infrastructure, and placements.
The relatively younger KSRDPRU carries a rural development and practical orientation and thereby has decent facilities tied with industry collaborations, making it a real competitor for applied geoinformatics. The academically older Kuvempu University holds a good reputation in research and has a vast alumni network. Having Shimoga as its base would also enable access to various geospatial data for learning purposes.
