Both the universities are good. However, let us look at the facts related to both the universities. Talking about the Pune University it has been ranked 23 under the 'University' category by the NIRF in 2024. On the other hand, Mumbai University has been ranked 61 in the same category by the NIRF in 2024. Savitribai Phule Pune University is recognised by UGC, it is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'.
