Hi Aman, if anyone cancels their admission from the 1st merit list or payment of fees is not done on time by them, then the waiting list candidates get a chance. However, be hopeful as there are three merit lists that shall be announced by the University, you might get a chance there, however it's only a probability. Do keep your options open.

Lateral entry engineering is nothing, but after completing your Diploma you get admission for direct 2nd year entry your 1st year is waived off. This is known as lateral entry, you can get lateral entry only after completing your Diploma. Hope this might help you.

Hi,
To get admission in government. Polytechnic for mechanical branch u need to fill online form on DTE Maharashtra website for this procedure, you need to go nearby Polytechnic college and take form kit from them, fill the details about yourself and after that choose the colleges you want & then apply. Admission chances depends upon your % also.
