Hello,
As per you marks you chances are slim for getting any govt. colleges, as you have scored really well in boards so it will be better for you to take a break and prepare well for next year, however if you are quite determined to take admission this year only then check here for more insights:

Hello Lokesh,
Both the colleges are the top most colleges of India so you may consider any one of them, however, if you are determined and have that passion to work hard, then definitely take a break for JEE Advanced.
All the best.

See anyhow in India, IITs had been witnessing awesome placements since good long years but that doesn't mean anything if you don't work harder in your UG level with multidisciplinary approach. Having good academic records is not enough but internship, other skills & innovativeness is of utmost importance. So are your soft skills. After being sound in all these, I'll suggest you to join in an institution of good industrial exposure & better graduation environment campus. So, all these are personalised issues that need some research & homework from your side too.

Hello Mohit,
You can take part in the counselling of Thapar University as your rank is low but counselling is on the basis of general rank that must be less than 1 lakh, so you may take part in the counselling.
All the best.
