Yes, NIT Sikkim be considered a good college for engineering. The institute is an autonomous institute recognised by the UGC and approved by the AICTE. While its recent NIRF 2024 ranking places it in the 151-200 band for engineering, and its median placement packages are modest at around INR 8.50 LPA for B.Tech. The faculty are passionate and committed to helping the students in their career pathways. The faculty focuses on theoretical and practical knowledge for the students.

To get a seat at NIT Sikkim for BTech specialisations, candidate must attain the rank as per the category they belong to. NIT Sikkim JEE Main cutoff 2025 was released for the first round. As per the cutoff for the General AI category candidates, the closing ranks in round 1 varied between 21087 and 49684. Looking at the cutoff ranks, it can be said that getting admission to NIT Sikkim at 35000 rank is easy. Though the choice of specialisation would be limited at this rank. You can get CSE in GFTI as per the JoSSA counselling cutoff last year. You cannot get any branch, like CSE, ECE in NIT at this rank.
