Candidates enroll in several courses at the National Institute of Technology Sikkim through various entrance exams. Candidates for B.E./B.Tech degrees must pass the NTA-conducted JEE MAINS test with a high score and good rank. then complete the counseling form for admission. Any IIT that administers the IIT-JAM test qualifies candidates for the M.Sc. program. A candidate wants to pursuing an M.Tech degree must pass the GATE and CCMT exams.

B.E./B.Tech, M.Sc., and M.Tech. are the most popular programs offered at National Institute of Technology Sikkim. It provides six B.E/B.Tech programs in mechanical, computer science, civil engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, electronics and communication and biotechnology. It offers M.Tech. degrees in electrical engineering, computer science, and other technical fields. Additionally, it offers an M.Sc. in Chemistry.

NIT Sikkim offers UG, PG, and Doctoral courses in the field of Science, Commerce, and Humanities, including BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD. At NIT Sikkim, these courses are offered through nine departments across multiple specialisations. BTech is the flagship course offered by the Institution. National exams like JEE Main and GATE are accepted by the Institution for admission to BTech and M.Tech courses.

Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore started the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 registration on Aug 30. GATE application form 2024 is available online at the exam official website. Aspirants can visit the website to apply. Yes, JEE Main 2024 dates for admission to NIT Sikkim are out now but the dates are tentative. It is expected that JEE Main 2024 notification will be released in the first week of December. NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2024 exam in two sessions in January and April. The exact date of the exam for both sessions will be announced in the notification. NIT Sikkim offers UG, PG and PhD course in various specialisations. BTech is the flagship course offered by the Institution. NIT Sikkim offers a four-year BTech programme in  five specialisations for the BTech programme, which include Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. NIT Sikkim admission to the flagship BTech course is completely entrance-based. Interested candidates are required to apply and appear for JEE Main.

The seat intake for MTech programme in NIT Sikkim is divided among the specialisation offered by the MTech programme. The Computer Scirnce and Engineering (CSE) intake total seat of 23, M.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering intakes  23 seat aswell and M.Tech. in Control, Power and Electric Drives intakes the least of only 8 seats.

GATE exams for M.Tech programme is out for admission to NIT Sikkim. GATE registration had started and is available till Oct 13, with late fees. Candidates can dowload the GATE admit card from Jan 3, 2024 to Feb 2, 2024. The Gate exam is to be scheduled from Feb 3 to Feb 11, 2024. Candidates are required To register themselves by visiting the official GATE website.

NIT Sikkim don't provide direct admission to any programme offered by the institution. The admissions are strictly based on national-level entrance tests like JEE Main, GATE, and IIT JAM. The institute may also conduct a written test and personal interview for further selection. As for the M.Tech programme clearing GATE exam followed by counselling is the process for admission.
