Admission to SASTRA University's B.Tech Lateral Entry program is granted on the basis of merit earned in an accredited diploma program. Since SASTRA admissions are mostly merit-based, the cutoff trends for lateral entry programs are not available . However, depending on the volume of applicants and diploma achievement levels, the rivalry may differ throughout areas such as computer science, electronics and communication engineering, and others.

For MBA and MBA-International Business, one has to clear the minimum cutoff score of MAT, TANCET, or any other recognised test for the particular year.
