Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the HSC (+2) examination conducted by the state and through counselling (TNEA) conducted by Anna University Chennai, selected candidates are allotted to various colleges for admission. Candidates may also appear directly for admission to the College under Management Quota. Admission forms may be obtained from the college office.

Eligibility: + 2 or equivalent, as per norms and guidelines of the Government of Tamil Nadu/Anna University and AICTE for UG courses.

It depends on the course in which the student is interested. Tagore Engineering College offers BTech, MTech, and MBA courses. Admission to the BTech, and MBA courses at the college is done based on the scores obtained in the entrance exams such as TNEA, TANCET, etc. Admission to MTech is done directly based on the scores obtained in the previous qualifications.
