NIT, Trichy has been ranked one among the NITs for a while now whereas NIT, Surathkal is said to be in top 3 but its position keeps on fluctuating. If we see the MHRD ranking for engineering colleges NIT, Trichy stands at 11th while NIT, Warangal stands at 22nd rank. Coming to the CSE department, the curriculum of both the colleges is similar. Yes, you can pursue BCA even after studying commerce in class 12th. Actually, the eligibility for BCA varies college to college. There are students who are studying commerce with mathematics or commerce with computer science, they are eligible for giving entrance test of any University for BCA.

If you are open category, then its difficult to get a seat in NITW. You may get biotechnology too. It is not sure.

The eligibility for M.Sc. in Nutrition and Dietetics is that the candidate must have scored minimum 40% in graduation and must have studied Chemistry as an optional subject at graduation level and
Candidate must have studied any one of the subjects mentioned at graduation level:Botany/
Zoology/Genetics/Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology.
So in case if you had Chemistry and one of Botany/ Zoology/Genetics/Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology subjects you can apply for the course.
The admission is through counselling based on the marks obtained in Osmania University Common Entrance Test(OUCET)
