Below are the admission requirements for Rice University Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs:

Undergraduate requirements:

• ACT and SAT scores: SAT and ACT for your overall score. However, if you have taken the test more than once, you are suggested to submit the highest scores on the SAT or ACT. Individuals require a decent score, however, this is optional and compulsory. 

• Transcripts of your high school: Transcripts include your information and performance in high school and other scores such as entrance exams.

• SOP: An SOP is essential for the application process for Rice University. It helps the applicant to convey their talents, Academic excellence accomplishments and personal background of applicants.

• Portfolio (Audition depending on your chosen course):  This depends on the course the applicant is choosing (Architecture), as this is not present in every program. • LOR: Applicants must submit 3 LOR from school faculty and counsellors.

Postgraduate requirements:

• LOR:  programs ask for a 3 LOR, and with particular exceptions, who should write those letters. 

• Statement of purpose (an SOP): An SOP is essential for the application process for Rice University. It helps the applicant to convey their talents, academic excellence accomplishments and personal background of applicants. 

• Transcripts and degrees: the applicant must provide the university with transcripts of their academics with degree certificates. Similarly, applying for PhD or doctoral program may require a master’s degree and transcripts from all graduate institutions of the applicant. 

• English Language Proficiency exams: The following table explains the minimum score of each English exam the university is accepting: 

• Entrance exam: Graduate school entrance exams are most common, but however, the programs might require different exams from the applicants. The applicants might need a GRE (Graduate Record examination ). GMAT, exam for certain courses. 

• Resume/CV:  The University might also ask you for a CV or a resume, depending on the course you choose for professional experience. 

All the international students aiming to pursue their higher studies from the University of Iowa can apply to the university in two ways: the University of Iowa Application or the Common Application (fall session only) through UI's official website.

While applying through the University of Iowa Application, the applicants don't necessarily have to complete the online application in one sitting. They may access their application and change their answers as many times as they like by using their email address and password from any computer with Internet access. Students must submit the application electronically once they have answered all required questions. Students must be aware of the proper admission requirements according to their degree and course and choice and submit them while applying. Along with the application, candidates must submit a non-refundable sum of $55 as the application fee. Any application fee can only be paid by Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. Once the applicant logs in, they will be presented with further instructions about navigating the system and filling out the various applications for admission.
