Hello Arshnoor,
American universities require SAT or ACT scores, students generally prepare for these exams during their high school. In India, commonly, students take these exams in class 11th or 12th. This will ensure that you don't waste a year. Anyone of these tests is to be taken, not both. Additionally, the TOEFL test must be taken by international students for English language proficiency requirements. Prepare a year before the admission intakes begin in the universities in the USA.
