No, the Amherst College is not part of the Ivy League which are known to be among the best colleges & universities in the United States & globally.
The eight members that form part of the Ivy League are:
· University of Pennsylvania

To get into the UofD MS in Software Engineering, a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required in Bachelor's degree. Also, note that a GPA of 2.7 or higher may be considered with the addition of pre-requisite courses and the approval of the department director / chair and Dean's office. Additionally, the following requirements must also be met:
- Must have taken courses in programming language such as C+ or Java, Data Structures and Algorithms, Calculus, Machine Organization, and Discrete Mathematics
- Also, submit IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5 / TOEFL score of 81 in iBT

During the academic year 2025-26, the University of Detroit Mercy is going to offer free tuition to first-year freshman students who meet the eligibility requirements. Also, students who continue to meet the requirements may renew the Titan Edge (financial aid) for up to 4 years. The Titan Edge combines federal and state scholarships and grants with Detroit Mercy financial aid to cover the cost of tuition and other course fees. It only applies to Winter and Fall semesters.
