In 1701, Yale University was established as a Collegiate School. As per the early history of the university, a group of 10 ministers led by the Reverend James Pierpont of New Haven met in nearby Branford in 1700 to form a college. Basically, in 1701, the Connecticut legislature adopted a charter to erect a collegiate school. But, the university's roots go back to 1640s. In 1718, the school became Yale College. At present, there are more than 15,000 students. Yale is a private Ivy league research university in New Haven, Connecticut.

Yes, international students seeking admission to Yale University have to submit an English language proficiency score. For the same purpose, IELTS score or equivalent can be submitted. For UG admission, below-given minimum scores are required:

  • In TOEFL, at least 100 is required
  • an IELTS score of 7 or higher
