NIT, Allahabad is better than IIIT, Allahabad. NIT, Allahabad gets extra benefits than NIT . According to MHRD too ranking of NIT Allahabad is far better than IIIT i.e 48 over 90 . Do move for NIT else IIIT-A is also having great repo for coding . Best of luck.

In the written admission test there are two parts: one is MMA and the other is PQB.
In MMA there are 30 MCQ questions each carrying 4 marks from 10+2 level. According to me the level of questions is between JEE Main and JEE Advanced mathematics question paper. So prepare well. Any JEE Advanced book is suggested. Also solve the previous question papers and some sample papers from ISI website, then you'll have an idea of the question pattern.
In PQB section there are 10 or 11 questions and you need to solve 6 questions each carrying 20 marks, so total 120 marks. Here people from mechanical background will get an advantage over other depart

As both Shiv Nadar and SASTRA are good for pursuing B.Tech. But, I reccomend you to go for SASTRA University. There are lots of streams available for you like B.Tech in CSE, IT, ME, civil engineering, chemical engineering, Biomedical engineering, Biotechnology, Food technology, Electrical engineering, EEE, Electronics, Automobile engineering and others. The most important thing which rely totally on your area of your interest. When you are sure about your area of interest then you can choose the above engineering streams for pursuing your graduation. No, at this rank, you'll not get lateral entry because lateral entry depends on the basis of vacant seats in second year and you have a very high rank for lateral entry. Iin IET, your rank should be around 10.
