Hello Hemcharan,
As per your marks, you have very slim chances of getting admission in IIIT-Allahabad. Last year, the closing rank was 10410 in the 6th round.

B.Tech in Solar and Alternative Energy is a niche branch of engineering. Its scope and opportunities can not be compared with Core branches of engineering. However, B.Tech Solar and Alternative Energy can expect to good reasonably good job in Medium size manufacturing companies. Grads may get job in Gulf countries where there is lot of demand for alternate energy professionals.

BTech Solar & Alternative Energy is a very specific niche engineering graduation degree which may have opportunities in future. It is suggested that you may prefer any core branch of Engineering over it for better career opportunities. You may go for Alternative Energy specialization in MTech or MS.
