GBPUAT has been recognised for its excellence in various fields by NIRF 2025, outperforming other institutes in parameters such as Teaching, Graduation Outcome, Inclusivity & Research, as well as fostering an exceptional learning environment. In the 'Overall' category, the institute's ranks have displayed constancy when compared with the previous year's ranking. In 2025, GBPUAT's rank is #101, the same as last year's rank in the 'Overall' category by the NIRF ranking.

GBPUAT has earned commendable rankings across different domains in the QS World University Rankings 2026. This signifies the institution's esteemed reputation and proficiency in various aspects, assigning it an overall good score. It can be seen that the GBPUAT's rankings in 'Asia' category have displayed a decreasing trend as per the ranks of the previous years. In 2026, GBPUAT ranks to #509 rank in the 'Asia' category by the QS World University Rankings. This is the second consecutive year that the institute has slipped in the rankings.

Well stocked library with collection of 3.9 Lacs documents in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, Animal Husbandry, Home Science, Fisheries, Basic Sciences, Humanities, Technology.  Collection includes Books, Theses, Periodicals, Standards, Reprints, Maps, Toposheets, Globes, Microfilms, Microfiches, Records, Tapes.

Each hostel Cafeteria IN GBPUAT is run & managed by students on cooperative basis. Students are required to leave the hostel rooms in the summer vacations to facilitate annual repairs and white washing etc. All students living in hostel are to abide by hostel & cafeteria rules. Every hostel has one P&T telephone with incoming facility.

GBPUAT offers modern amenities with a state of the art infrastructure to its undergraduate and postgraduate students. With a campus area of around 12,661 acre of land, GBPUAT offers a number of other facilities to its students apart from regular facilities such as labs and well-equipped classrooms. 

The University has released the NIRF report 2025 which includes the placement details for the batch 2024. According to the report,  88 UG 4 year (BTech) students were placed out of the total 387 graduated students during GBPUAT placements 2024 with a median package of INR 5.25 LPA.

No GBPUAT is not a private institution it is a public, state government university which was established in 1960 in Pantnagar Uttarakhand it is recognised as India's first agricultural university functioning as a public land grant university supported by state government. 

Aspiring students wishing to join GBPUAT are required to pay a certain amount as fees. GBPUAT fee structure for all courses consists of various components, namely tuition, security deposit, and hostel fee, etc. Among these components, some are to be paid only once during GBPUAT admission, while the remaining are charged according to the fee guidelines. GBPUAT fee ranges between INR 41,420 - 25,00,000.
