Note that the IIT graduates having CGPA of 8.0 or above will be eligible for direct admission at IIT Kharagpur without a GATE score 2023. The institute has scrapped the written tests/interviews of shortlisted candidates. The admissions will be conducted on the basis of the GATE 2023 score only.

So the college is ranked among the top colleges in India. IIEST Shibpur has been ranked under multiple streams, namely Engineering, Architecture, Management, and others. The college is ranked six by NIRF 2022 for Architecture, 40 for Research and Engineering, and 66 for Overall.

There's Class assessment exams every month. Four of them occurs throughout the semester and two practical assessments. One of the class assessment marks is added to the semester marks. The average score of both the semester, i.e. , the SGPA is the CGPA of a student every year.

If a student fails internal exams in Future Institute of Engineering and Management anyhow, their parents are called to discuss about it. Attendance is really strict, too. You need to be attentive in order to not fail in internals. Even if you do, you can overcome next time.

This is difficult to answer but in particular department there's more strength than others. Like, CSE department have a strength of approximately 150 every year, so as ECE and IT. Comparatively, EE, ME and Civil engineering have less strength. So, about 400 is the approximate strength of student of
