IIT, Kanpur in no way is a better choice than IIT, Kharagpur due to various reasons.
IIT, Kanpur students enjoy lots of freedom and can feel independent as the college administration makes you feel mature enough to take rational judgements whereas norms are strict at IIT, Kharagpur.
IIT, Kanpur has an average placement of 12 LPA and highest reaching up to 23 LPA whereas in IIT, Kharagpur it is 10.5 LPA, highest reaching up to 19 lakh.
Although, the labs and all other equipment related facilities are remarkable in both the institutes but still, Kanpur campus is more vibrant than Kharagpur consisting a pool of talented minds in it.
Now, in terms of sports facilities, both the institutes provide sufficient equipment and sports related accessories but, the court at IIT-Kanpur is better and much modern than IIT, Kharagpur which is reflected in the inter IIT sports meet.

BE placements from Jadavpur university are far better as compared to other institutions of Bengal.
There is a large scope for civil engineers in both corporate as well as the North East India, where Jadavpur university students find a path to do better in future.
Talking about the average placements from the university, it is been around Rs 6.5 lakh per annum, the highest being Rs 15 lakh and lowest being Rs 3 lakh.
Since there are many companies visiting for non-civil fields then also civil students participating and getting selected are contributing to high placement percentage.
Though overall, university is very nice, but one should get more information about the locality and culture of the university before taking admission as it may not suit the north Indian as told to me by one of my seniors.
Also, the admission process is through West Bengal JEE conducted every year where one has to perform the best for getting into a civil branch of the most elite institution of Bengal.

Yes, definitely students from Jadavpur University get placed abroad. The college manages to attract a number of MNCs to the college during the placement drive.
This is dependent on two factors:
Firstly, it is dependent on the fact that how active is the placement and training cell of the college and how much effort it puts to attract companies like MNCs. Secondly, this is totally dependent on the company as to keep an employee in home job location or international location and varies according to various factors like job vacancy at the desired location, projects going on at the desired location and your personal preference among all the choices given to you by the company.
Now, let me tell you that the placement and training cell of the college is one of the best among all the private colleges in India and attracts a lot of MNCs and core companies.
