Hi,There are plenty of Diploma, degree, and certificate courses available for the film making and three of them have different time durations. You can opt any course as per your convenience.

If you are capable of self-study then you can do it yourself. Alternatively, if you cannot then you have to join coaching classes of preparation for NIFT/NID.
Arihant is a good book for preparation.
