India is a highly attractive destination for global R&D centers owing to the availability of talent, as well as lower cost, compared with the US and Western Europe. But, matching the industry expectation basis the degree curriculum is slight difficult. You need to look around and discover the latest skills being used in VLSI Industry. I suggest you to go for Online VLSI Design methodology course offered by Maven Silicon (relearn.maven-silicon.com) while doing your Masters. If you already have work experience in the IT sector before doing your MBA, then looking for higher up positions in the same technical ladder would make sense and would be easy too. You have an MBA plus technical exposure which makes you very eligible. But if you are planning to make a new move and haven't been in IT at all, then depending on which exact domain, research what is the scope and technical requirement. You could take up a proper course online or in person and get a notified certificate. If you are already beyond mid-management level, customize the course that you want to do. Gather as much knowledge and awareness that is necessary and preferably get that officially certified. It will bring you closer to opportunities. My suggestion would be, even if its moving to Software and IT, make sure to take up roles that will help you showcase MBA knowledge and expertise and experience. A mix of both talents sure pays.
