Dear Chandu, after doing Diploma in engineering there is no procedure to get direct admission in BCA second year. You can get admission in B.Tech 2nd year through lateral entry exam. Either you can do BCA on the basis of class 12th exam in which you will get admission in the 1st year.

Let us understand that software development process in not only programming. It is collaborative effort where in addition to good technical resources addition resources such as Domain or subject matter experts, Business Analyst, Testers and project management specialist are also required. On average, 50% of software development team consist of such resources. With commerce background, you can still become a technical resource by doing BCA from colleges where eligibility criteria is not Maths as 10+2. IGNOU allow non Maths students to seek admission in BCA. You will be required to pursue and pass additional basic course on maths.

You may pursue management after BCA in case it suits your interest and aptitude, also if you not keen to do Masters in specific computer applications domain and wish to explore more career opportunities. You may appear for MBA entrance exam and enrol with a reputed institute.
