The aspirants who are Class 12 or equivalent pass with at least 60% aggregate (50% aggregate for SC/ST/applicants hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and the North-Eastern states) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can apply. However, the qualifying exam should have been passed from a recognised board. Apart from this basic eligibility, the aspirants must also meet the below criteria to become eligible for admission:
- Applicant must be a resident/ non-resident Indian National/ PIO
- Candidates need to pass Class 12 with Physics/Chemistry/Biology and English for admission to BTech Biotechnology, CSE Bioinformatics and ECE

JEE Mains dates for session one and session two have been released on the official website of NTA for admission to BTech courses at IIIT Pune. The admission dates have been released, candidates can attend the examination in their chosen session (s). Once the result is announced, they can verify their scores and appear for JoSAA counselling, and in the choice filling select IIIT Pune. Moreover, the admission process usually concludes in the month of June.

The eligibility criteria to get admission to BTech courses at IIIT Pune is candidates must complete their Class 12 from PCM stream with a minimum aggregate of 75%. In addition, for admission to this course, the students are required to appear and secure good scores in JEE Mains, followed by followed by JoSAA/ CSAB Counselling. The institute offers only two specialisations in BTech courses i.e., Electronics and Communication Engineering and BTech in Computer Science and Engineering.
