Yes, a medical certificate is compulsory to get admission into BTech courses at IMU Kochi, Indian Maritime University (IMUC). A physical fitness certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner is required to be submitted at the time of admission, when the applicant gets selected. Moreover, in the counseling process, an applicant is required to submit their medical certificates.

Currently, the counselling process has been concluded for admission to the BTech course at IMU Kochi. In this Kochi campus, candidates who qualify for IMU CET can register themselves for the counselling process after the release of the IMU CET list. The application form usually starts in the month of April/ May every academic year. For the academic batch of 2025, the last date to fill out the IMU CET application form was 2 May 2025.

IMU Kochi only offers one specialisation in the BTech course, i.e., Marine Engineering. Further, the course is divided into eight semesters and offered in full-time mode. The minimum is Class 12 in PCM with at least an aggregate of 60% and a minimum of 50% marks in English in Class 10 & 12. A 5% relaxation is given to SC/ ST candidates.

To get admission into the BTech course at IMU Kochi, candidates must follow the whole admission procedure, which includes completion of eligibility criteria, appearing in the entrance exam, release of merit, document verification, seat confirmation, etc. Moreover, the campus accepts relevant IMU CET scores for admission to BTech courses, and the counselling can be conducted at the university or campus.

Yes, IMU Kochi does offer a BTech course for the duration of four years. The campus only offers one specialisation in the BTech course, i.e., Marine Engineering. Further, the course is divided into eight semesters and offered in full-time mode. To get admission into this course, candidates must complete the basic eligibility requirement, secure valid scores in the entrance exam, and then go through a counselling process.
