Candidates seeking the counselling fees must verify the official website csab.nic.in because it provides updates about both the counselling schedule and payment requirements. Th

The CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) Special Round counseling provides a chance to students who did not get a seat in JoSAA counseling. Students who registered for JoSAA counseling need not pay any further fee to join CSAB Special Round. The registration fee amount is INR 2,100 for general category students and INR 1,050 for SC/ST/PwD category students although unregistered applicants must pay the fee in case they did not participate in JoSAA counseling. CSAB Special Round serves to occupy open seats in NITs as well as IIITs and GFTIs.

According to last year statistics, an OBC-NCL rank of around 5,751 to 11,994 is typically required for admission to IIIT Trichy through JoSAA or CSAB in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) stream.
It can be challenging to get a seat in the CSE branch with your OBC-NCL rank of 16,500. OBC-NCL students have a little more hope of getting admitted to the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) branch, where closing ranks have reached 15,120.

With your JEE Main CRL rank of 552666 and SC category rank of 40086, it may be difficult to get admission to NIT Karnataka (NITK) through the CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board), especially for high-demand branches like Computer Science Engineering (CSE).

However, you still have a chance for other branches under the SC category, as the cutoff ranks for different branches vary each year and depend on the number of seats, category-wise reservations, and the number of applicants. Generally, NITs have a significant number of seats reserved for SC candidates, which can improve your chances for certain branches.

No, if the candidate has physically reported at the allotted institute, then withdrawal is not permitted from the CSAB account. The CSAB headquarters will transfer the collected fee to the allotted/admitted institute. Thereafter, the cancellation and refund/forfeiture will be handled by the allotted institute as per their rules/norms.

There is no fee to register for any CSAB counselling round. However, fees must be paid after registration and seat allotment as required and as per the schedule of CSAB counselling.
