With rank under 50,000, you can target CSE/ECE in newer IIITs (Kalyani, Dharwad), core branches in top NITs (Jalandhar, Bhopal), and tech branches in GFTIs (JNU, BIT Mesra).

Yes. CSAB retains the Home State (50% quota) and Other State (50% quota) categorisations for NITs, just like in JoSAA.

Getting a Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) seat in a centrally funded government college (like NITs or IIITs) through CSAB counseling with a 3 Lacs CRL (and 1.1 Lacs OBC-NCL Rank) is highly unlikely.

No, CSAB counselling has not begun for NIT Andhra Pradesh BTech admissions in 2026. Counselling rounds for BTech admissions through CSAB are scheduled on 28th July. Candidates will be able to register for CSAB counselling starting from 23rd July.

NIT Raipur sees its final BTech vacancies filled during the CSAB rounds in late July or early August. These rounds start only after the regular JoSAA process is completely finished. It is a fast-paced process that lasts for about a week. You must act quickly to upload documents and pay fees if you get a seat here.
