The Science stream candidates can apply for CSIR NET exam which is similar to UGC NET exam conducted to determine the eligibility criteria for assistant professor and JRF. The CSIR NET exam is held in five subjects in life Science, mathematical Science, physical Science, chemical and earth Science subjects. The CSIR NET exam is divided in three sections. Sections 1 is common for all the subjects while paper 2 and 3 consists questions form their post-graduation subjects or its related subjects only. As paper 2 &3 consists questions related to your PG subject, they should apply for their PG subject or its related subjects only. The registration process for June session has been extended by NTA for the fourth time till 30th June. a candidate can appear for the CSIR NET exam Earth Science with a Masters degree in Geography if he/she fulfill all the eligibility criteria of the exam, As per the qualification they can apply for the CSIR NET Earth Sciences. Provided the fulfill below criteria -
Candidates should have a Masters degree to appear for the CSIR NET exam with a minimum 55% aggregate marks if they belong to General/OBC category or minimum 50% aggregate marks if they are from SC/ST/PwD category. A candidate who has earlier applied for UGC NET Geography http://bit.ly/33sylOgor a Candidate who enrolled in the post-graduation can also apply for the CSIR UGC NET exam. Aspirants must also follow age criteria for CSIR NET JRF I. e. 28 years. Reserved categories get the 5 years age relaxation. For Assistant Professor there is no age criteria.

Integrated BS-MS, BS-4 Years, BE/B.Tech, B.Pharma MBBS or an Equivalent Degree to apply for the exam. Candidates must satisfy the minimum percentage criteria which is 55% Marks for General and OBC Candidates and for ST/SC/PWD Candidates is 50% Marks. Candidates, who have enrolled in M.Sc. Courses or have completed any of the above-mentioned qualification as on the closing date of online submission of CSIR NET Application Form, can apply for the exam. Students who are pursuing in M.Sc. Their result should be declared within two years of CSIR NET Certificate release date. Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format of their Masters degree duly certified by the Head of Institute/Dean/Head of Department from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared. Hello Sheetal, From Dec 2019, NTA is the conducting the CSIR NET to determine the eligibility of the candidates for assistant professor and JRF. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the NTA has extended the last date to apply for the exam till 30th June. You should check the form very carefully before the final submission. The candidates are allowed to make changes in the application form if they made any after the registration process ends. The NTA will provide a chance to make correction in your name after registration process after the last date to apply for the exam. You can change the name by paying required fees. The process to change the information will be in online mode only.
