No you don't need legal studies as your mandatory subject for the cuet exams. But it also depends on University to university. Please check your university eligibility criteria first. The general eligibility criteria for BA LLB programme typically requires you to have passed class 12 with a minimum percentage between 45 to 50 percent.

The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU) grants admissions for B.Sc courses based on the results of CUET, i.e. the Common University Entrance Test. For eligible candidates seeking admission in B.Sc programs, this score is a determining factor in selection. In addition, IGNTU has this university-level counselling procedure on the entrance exam performance.
For B.Sc admissions through CUET, suppose a candidate wants to know about the expected minimum cutoff marks for a program, but precise figures depend on the specific programme and competition for seat. Hence, they are advised to check the official cutoff list when published

If you're looking for a good chance of getting into SGGSCC for B.Sc at the 75th percentile in CUET, this is relative to the course for which application has actually been made and the cutoff for that particular year. In General, subjects that generally are quite competitive might be B.Sc (Hons) in Mathematics or Computer Science; the higher the cutoff will be with these subjects. Thus, it would be best to check for the detailed CUET cutoffs released by SGGSCC to see if your score meets the percentile required for your desired course.

This is not necessary if Legal Studies have not been studied before in high school while pursuing such a five-year integrated course as BA LLB, as it does not take up CUET for admissions into their schools. Most major BA LLB schools that base their admissions on CUET have the following subject scores:
a) English (mandatory for most universities)
b) General Test (common choices for logical reasoning, general awareness, and quantitative aptitude)
c) Other subjects relevant, such as political science, history, or whatever the university concerned specifies.
It is good to check criteria for eligibility as well as the proper subject combination
