No, you cannot pursue a foundation programme at the National Institute of Fashion Technology as part of your Master's degree. The NIFT Foundation Programme is designed to provide a strong base in design fundamentals, technical skills, and design thinking for students who might not have a formal design background. Master's programs at NIFT typically require a Bachelor's degree in a design-related field or a relevant discipline. They presume students already possess a foundational understanding of design principles and skills.

The last date to register and pay the application fee for SEED 2025 will be notified at the time of the release of the application form or sometime thereabout. SID will release the full application schedule on its admission portal. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria need to fill out the application form before the last date.

Before filling the form, the candidate must ensure they meet the prescribed eligibilty criteria.

The SEED application fee is INR. 3250 (INR. 2250/- for SEED & INR. 1000/- for SID). The fee has to be paid online. Offline payments will not be accepted. 

Candidates may note that the registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. So, the candidate needs to go forward and pay the application fee only if they are sure about appearing in the SEED 2025 exam.

The online application form for SEED 2025 is expected to open in the 4th week of August 2024.

The candidate has to upload a digital portfolio as part of the admission process at SID. The digital portfolio must be a compilation of the candidate’s best works and showcase their skills, passion, and interest in a variety of areas and techniques. The candidate must ensure that the portfolio includes items that he or she is proud of. Try to be different and include unique and interesting things.

When uploading the portfolio, the candidate must follow the specifications and guidelines issued by the admission official.

The SEED 2025 written will be a 60 minutes exam. The exam will be conducted in multiple slots between 10 am and 4 pm.

The SEED question paper will include 60 questions.

The following types of questions will be asked during the exam - MCQ, Match the Columns, Fill in the blanks, image-based and comprehension based.

Further, the paper will contain a mix of questions related to Visual Sensitivity and Judgement, Observational, Perceptual and Reasoning abilities, Problem Solving, Basic knowledge of Logic of Science and Mathematics, Art, Craft and Culture, Design and Environment.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) has launched a Master of Design (M. Des) in the field of User Experience Design. The duration of the programme is two years, which carries 80 credits, and the degree is awarded by the Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune.

SEED 2025 Fee Structure for M.Des program

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) offers four major disciplines at SID in the following areas.

The candidate will have to select their programme of study at the time of filling out the SEED 2025 application form. Admission to the above courses will be conducted on the basis of merit rank of the candidate in SID.

Note that the merit rank will be prepared considering the performance of the candidate in the SEED 2025 written exam, Personal interaction, and Portfolio and PRPI Task review.

Admission to the M.Des programme will be conducted based on the cumulative performance of the candidate in:

• Studio Test & Portfolio Review

• Personal Interaction

The registration process for the M.Des prorgram will open tentatively in the 3rd week of January 2025. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria may apply.
