NIFT is getting higher level than other fashion institutes. Chennai will have settlement issues with both, place and language.

A large number of students appearing in NIFT entrance exams are in same boat as you. You are advised to prepare for NIFT entrance exams along with your 12th studies and appear for entrance exams. It is an extra effort but an worth effort. All the best!

The best college to get in is NIFT or NID. The fee comparing to other institutes is nominal for both the institutes.

Yes, you can surely pursue fashion communication after completing 12th. but, for the same, you will have to appear for entrance tests conducted by different institutes.
