Hi,
The question is too generic. If you opt footwear designing, you may get career as a merchandiser in a footwear company, if you do costume designing, you will be merchandiser with textile units, clothing company, retail, etc. It's you who need to decide in which industry you want to go.

The basic eligibility criteria to pursue a course in National Institute of Fashion Technology is successfully completing 10+2. Admissions are done on the basis of an entrance examination i.e CAT & GAT. After clearing, there is a situation test which is followed by a group discussion or a counseling session.
