NIFT B. Des selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a Creative Ability Test CAT and General Ability Test (GAT), followed by a Situation Test to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates of the written examination. GAT comprises the following topics as under.
1. Quantitative Ability : 20 Questions
2. Communication Ability : 25 Questions
3. English Comprehension : 25 Questions
4. Analytical Ability : 15 Questions
5. General Knowledge & Current Affairs : 15 Questions
Total= 100 Questions of 100 Marks

Interior designing is one of the creative fields expected to show high growth given the fact that the construction and the interior designing industry is expected to continue to maintain its high growth trajectory over the coming years. Therefore, the scope of interior designing in India, as well as the scope of interior designing abroad, looks set to have high growth and to be an excellent career choice for deserving and hardworking creative individuals.
You will be learning to create three-dimensional scaled physical models. Design a wide range of residential spaces and commercial spaces like retail, office, etc. , as per diverse human needs. Use CADD in detailing of interior spaces. Use appropriate software for project presentations.
Practice 3 Dimensional visualization of the space using 3D software. Provide appropriate lighting effect to the interior spaces. Design Luminaires. Prepare a Bill of Quantities for projects. Develop a collaborative project work in any Interior Design related area. Create a presentation on research topics through the dissertation also to create a design portfolio.
