Yes, because any university/college gives you 3 years to complete the Diploma but if you fail in any subject, you are given at least 7 years so that you can complete your Diploma with that subject. And you can apply for any bachelor's degree even with 50% marks.

Diploma holders of Andhra Pradesh can now get direct admission in B.Tech colleges in Tamil Nadu. TNEA rules state that Diploma holders from other states including Andhra Pradesh can get lateral entry into BE. They must have passed three years Diploma course with the minimum 50 % marks for general cat. & 45% for reserved cat. The candidates who appear for the exam will be admitted to second year of the B.Tech program. The fees structure for lateral entry students of Tamil Nadu B.Tech colleges differ from INR 40,000 to INR 2,00,000 per year.

The Diploma offered in Food and Nutrition is a hot-selling course focusing on how Science deals with and deals with food concerning our health and can generally span a year or two, depending on the institutions. Entry eligibility would require a student to pass out of the 12th grade, studying these subjects with a Science background. Since this GME course needs to be done at a specific institution, the eligibility will also be contingent on the programme requirements of that institution.
Generally, GME is meant for students who have graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related branch. Since you are pursuing a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, generally, you would be eligible for GME courses, which are meant for candidates who would like to specialize in mechanical engineering at a graduate level.

MBA :
After Diploma in business management, one can pursue an MBA at institutes. In India, the third semester of an MBA is usually given as a lateral entry if one has done a diploma. But the prerequisite for getting into an approved college is a bachelor's degree.
BCom :
If you have completed a Diploma program, you can apply for lateral entry into a graduation programme in a similar field. It might even be possible to enter the second or third year of the program.
