Let me tell you that finding a job is not easy. Basically, there are two things required for a person to get a job. One is that you must possess the skills that will be required in the job plus journalism is a big skill demanding job. Secondly there must be a vacancy for you to occupy. So if you are willing to get placed then start looking everywhere instead of sitting and waiting for college or somebody else to get you a job. Go and investigate yourself the scenario of your city, get into contacts with people already in the field visit offices, and leave your resume wherever you can. A few people are there who can maintain their courage after a long gap like you. No need to worry about your graduation (B.Tech or AMIE), because Diploma is also a technical course which you have done earlier. It will be best for you, if you go for a regular degree, number of colleges and universities are there, which offer admission on merit bases, so you can get admission easily. Don't loose hope in any condition, it will be a little bit though due to a long gap but slowly and slowly you will be on track. Just keep in touch with books and carry on. Best of luck.
