It's actually not the question if which is better or worse. It's what is possible and what is not. If taking up job to support family ,etc is a must, then don't look for B.Tech. If can afford to study for three more years then only go for B.Tech else job along with AMIE.

For example Polytechnics in India offer 3 years Diploma in Engineering branches after 10th class. It is a skill based educational qualification which has more practical training. Yes, you can easily get a college to pursue Diploma. You can also get into a top government college if you appear for an entrance exam called JELET.

There are many courses. You can go for PLC SCADA, Mechatronics and embedded systems. You can also go for computer languages if you want for additional knowledge.

You have scored reasonably good marks in your diploma. However, eligibility criteria differs from state to state. Some states have entrance exam while others give lateral admission based on marks in diploma.

No you do not have to give any entrance exams for private colleges that offer you Diploma and also you can go for the course anytime once you are done with the schooling.
