Durham College is one of the best colleges in Canada for international programs. One of its popular programmes is Accounting- Business.

Accounting is frequently referred to as the "universal business language." The Accounting - Business programme at Durham College is the next step towards a profession in accounting. You will get the skills businesses require by learning from industry-connected instructors and developing your accounting knowledge utilising the latest tools and technologies.

Requirements for the course:

• Mature Student Status or Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)

• (C or U) in Grade 12 English 

• (C, M or U) in Grade 11 mathematics 

Fee for the course year 1 semester 1 would be USD 8,764.98

It has a total of four semesters. 

The eligibility requirements for each programme at Durham College differ. Some programmes may have special requirements that students must meet before applying. Before applying to the programme, students should also check to see whether there are any open seats. The eligibility conditions also differ based on the nation of origin of the student. Indian students must meet the following requirements.

Indian students must qualify for any one of the following conditions:

• Original scanned copy, as well as notarized English-translated copies of university Diploma and transcripts. To qualify, applicants must have been placed in either the first or second division. Gaps of more than 5 years will be evaluated on an individual basis.

• State Board Exams in Years 10 and 12

• The Central Board of Secondary Education granted the All India Senior School Certificated

• higher secondary certificate 

Yes both on campus and off campus housing is available there.Durham College apartments are available to all students on the Oshawa and Whitby campuses.

On- campus residence 

Each of the rooms feature the following amenities:

Off- campus residence 

These private houses are only available to students and are located near the Oshawa campus.

Foundry 1805-  located on Simcoe Street, a short distance from campus of Oshawa. These are either unfurnished or furnished units, with laundry on each floor and group or private study areas. (A 12-month lease is required.)

Simcoe Foundry-  directly across the street from the Oshawa campus. Three-bedroom and five-bedroom suites are offered. There is a bathroom in each room. The kitchen and living area are shared. Cleaning service twice a month. Utilities are extra and are automatically shared among renters, with bills issued directly by Varsity. Apply online or go to their store to see a model unit. (A lease term of September to August is required.)

17 Hundred - A five-minute walk from the Oshawa campus on Simcoe Street. There are two- to five-bedroom apartments available (lease terms vary depending on move-in date). These are either furnished or unfurnished units that include the following:

• Wi-Fi

• Group and private study spaces

• Yoga room

• Theatre room; and

• Recreation room with billiards.

Applicants must confirm the English language proficiency requirements for  visa and study permit, as required by IRCC for your country with your local Canadian Embassy or Visa Application Centre (VAC), as you may still need to write an in-person IELTS or TOEFL exam for visa or study permit processing.

If applying through the SDS programme, Indian students will be required to submit an Academic IELTS of 6 with no band score less than 6 (The Student Stream (SDS) is an expedited study permit processing programme for those who are applying to study in Canada at a post secondary learning institution with a valid DLI).
