Hi Ankur,IGNOU is globally recognized, but for admission purposes you must check with the universities. Especially for Ph.D, you must check directly with the universities, contact the department heads for Ph.D work.

If one appears for his/her SSC from NIOS with 5 subjects including economics, is he/she eligible for B.A. Economics in any college under DU?

There is no such distinction of NIOS students for admissions in DU. You will be totally eligible, but the admissions are based on merit so you will need to score accordingly. I suggest seeking out last year's merit list to get a general idea as it varies each year.
