in distance learning program there are not any good or bad colleges. Many good universities provides distance learning for electronics engineering like manipal university you can also do distance learning from foreign universities.

IT Industry is largest job creator industry in India for last decade. In-spite of outcry against outsourcing in Western world, it is still a good career choice. Nowadays IT companies prefer BTech CSE and MCA over BE Electronics. Therefore, as Electronics engineer you will have to enhance your IT skills by doing certifications to meet industry skill requirements.

I am a final year ece student. i think its
Better to go In Cse than ece.the course is very hard if you are doing it from a government university. .Also there are less placement opportunities in the field of electronics in India. Only USA is a place to do an ece degree if you want good returns on your efforts.
also most companies come for computer grads in placements.even if u are an ece student they will want you to be proficient in computer languages in which you won't be proficient as your course doesn't encourage learning of Computer languages.
The coursework of ece is very hefty and doesn't leave the room for learning side things.

University of Engineering & Management (UEM) under IEM group. Students passing out from IEM and UEM are all having 1-2 job offers. They are working all over the world in top positions. They are working in Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Honeywell, IBM research, INTEL and all top multinational companies.
Govt of India, MHRD, NIRF
has ranked IEM group as 3rd in Bengal after IIT Kharagpur and NIT Durgapur. The top 4 of Bengal within 100 in order are:-
1) IIT Kharagpur
2) NIT Durgapur
3) IEM Kolkata
4) IIEST Shibpur (Formerly BESU)
