No, any branch is good or bad, it's all about your interest. If you are interested in doing engineering from a specific branch then it holds good for you. Both the branches have their own importance benefits and Fields of Learning. If you want to work upon High voltage and love machines, you can go for electrical. But, if you want to work upon smaller voltage and also can do coding. You can go for electronics. I would like to suggest you that you should go with the branch in which you have more interest. The main difference between these two branches are that electrical engineering is a core branch, in which you'll only have the knowledge about electrical however in Electrical & Electronics you will get to know about electrical and electronics also. So you choose in which branch you want to go with.

Since you are already pursuing a course, you can apply for the same in the next session. Diploma holders can also apply with Physics, Mathematics as Mandatory Subjects.
Eligibility is as below:
Qualification: Class 12th
Mandatory Subjects: Physics, Mathematics
Entrance exam: JEE Main

EE is concerned with using electricity to transmit energy and EEE concerned with using electricity to transmit information. In Electrical Engineering you study Power System engineering in more details starting from electrical power generation, line parameter calculation, power system analysis, switchgear & protection. In EEE most of these subjects are common except that some of the advanced topic in power system analysis like load flow analysis, power system operation & control etc. are covered only in EE.
