You can appear for GATE and can get admission in top IITs or NITs to pursue your Masters. Else, you can apply for top private institute entrances like VIT and BITS to pursue Masters which accept GATE score and even has their personal entrance test.

Off course, an ECE Graduate can be a part of Automobile Industry. Since most of the vehicles today consists of various microprocessors/microcontrollers and sensors for their automatic locomotion. So this kind of automation work can only be done either by an Electronics Engineer or by an Electrical Engineer. Also the production plant works on PLCs which can only be programmed by ECE or EEE graduate student. All the Automobiles will have embedded systems and communication systems in them.
