Hello Hem Chandola, I feelthat cutoff percentiles for different categories of students may not change substantially. This is so since it's percentile that matters and not percentage. This ensures that whether paper is tough of simple, it is immaterial. In addition, students preparation and quality is not going to change drastically this year as compared with last year. You just need to download syllabus, have a look ATIT and then decide the pace at which you want to cover all topics. I am sure with this percentile you should get admission in your desired college. However I would strongly recommend that you should appear for the next sessions of JEE Mains examination and try to improve your percentile. This in turn will make your chances brighter. Hello Tanisha, your percentile is definitely good. But you have not mentioned many things that could have enabled us to give you a detailed and proper response. Okay. Your percentile means there are almost 19% students above you in merit. (100-81). About 10Lakh students appeared meaning there are about 1.9Lakh students ahead of you in order of merit. I can understand your angst but these are hard facts. I would strongly recommend that you appear for further rounds of JEE Mains with aim of improvement in your percentile. Best wishes to you.
