JEE Main is not necessary. The admission in Genetic engineering is based on its own entrance test conducted by various private Universities. Like SRMJEE for SRM University. Bharath University conducts his own entrance exam known as BEEE for the same.

Hello, Reservation in admission or quota for different categories of students is mandated by law for or government colleges or government-aided colleges. However, this is not mandated for private establishments not taking any aid from the government. Hence if you are thinking of seeking admission in a government or government-aided college then you should use your category rank for getting admission in that particular category. However, if you are seeking admission to a private institute then you need to quote your overall rank. Best wishes to you.

The second leg of JEE Mains 2020 will be conducted in W2 of April-2020. Results are expected in about two weeks after that. Just for your information, results are already announced for the first leg of JEE Mains 2020 that was conducted in W2 of January 2020.
